Overview
Argosy University/Twin Cities is part of a 13-campus private university that offers associate and bachelor’s completion, master’s and doctoral degrees, and post-doctoral certificates in health care, psychology, education and business. Argosy University is proud to offer practitioner-focused programs that lead to specific careers.
Located in the Minneapolis/St. Paul, Minnesota, metropolitan area, the Twin Cities campus has just moved into a brand-new 90,000 square-foot, custom-designed campus in the suburb of Eagan.
Argosy University/Twin Cities was created in 2001 with the merger of the Medical Institute of Minnesota (founded in 1961), the Minnesota School of Professional Psychology (founded in 1987), and the University of Sarasota. With a total of 1,200 students in the fall 2002 semester, the Minnesota campus is one of the largest Argosy University campuses across the country.
University Life
Students at Argosy University/Twin Cities are offered multiple learning formats—weekday, weekend, evening, and online courses—that allow for flexible scheduling. Students have the opportunity to earn degrees at the doctoral, master’s, bachelor's, and associate degree levels from a diverse, experienced, professional faculty.
A wide variety of resources helps to support students in completing their education and achieving career goals. The campus library contains more than 320 active and 520 retrospective journals. The career services office provides career counseling, career-related workshops and programs, access to national job-listing databases, résumé referrals, and videotaped mock interviews. A free, in-house counseling center provides individual counseling for students and their families. Faculty or peer tutoring is available at no charge for those needing assistance.
Argosy University/Twin Cities offers a variety of activities for students. The Student Senate represents student interests, makes recommendations to faculty and administration, and organizes social gatherings. Additionally, the university sponsors the Diversity Committee, the Student Life Committee, the GLBT+A Task Force, and publishes a weekly newsletter, the In-Psy-Der, for graduate students. The campus also publishes a campus newsletter which informs students about upcoming events, general announcements, comments from the university president, news from academic and administrative departments, and research and professional membership.
Academics
Health sciences programs include: associate degrees in dental hygiene, medical assisting, medical laboratory technology, histotechnology, radiologic technology, radiation therapy, diagnostic medical sonography, and veterinary technology. Degrees available in psychology include: master’s and doctoral degrees in clinical psychology, master's in marriage and family therapy, and a bachelor's in psychology degree completion program. There are also master’s, doctoral, and specialist degrees in education, and business programs at the doctoral and masters level plus a bachelor's degree completion.
Hands-on training is an essential component of all academic programs offered at Argosy University/Twin Cities. Clinical training and internship experiences help students apply the theories they learn in the classroom to situations they will encounter in a real-world setting. Training staff members assist students in finding a suitable clinical or practicum site that fits their individual interests and needs.
