MBA - General
(Term 3 & 4: April - September)
The primary aim of this general
MBA programme is to develop
a range of appropriate knowledge,
values, skills and competencies
sufficient to enable you to operate
and manage effectively within
domestic and international markets.
Term 3
Leadership &
Management Development:
This module provides a high level conceptual
introduction to ideas about leader-ship
in business organisations. It explores
views about management development
in a range of comparative organisational
case studies from several world regions
including Asia, Africa, Arab nations, Europe,
Latin America, Australia and the USA.
Strategic Change Management:
The aims of this module are to build upon
knowledge already gained in the basics
of management and especially Strategic
Management, International Management
and Organisation Dynamics & Change,
to direct students to an understanding
of strategies and how they work within
different contexts and their resulting
needs for particular change strategies.
International Business:
This module is designed to analyse the
various forms of international business
activity, consider the opportunities,
challenges and risks which distinguish
them from domestic business and
analyse the implications for strategic
decision-making.
Term 4
Pathway Dissertation:
The dissertation is a major piece of work
which demonstrates the student’s ability
to qualify for the award of MBA. The study
must have a business focus and be appropriate
to the student’s pathway. No lectures
take place during Term 4, however, you
will maintain individual contact with
your dissertation supervisor.
MBA Career Enhancement
& Planning:
The aim of Career Enhancement &
Planning activity is to provide support
in relation to addressing the students’
concerns regarding issues relating to
the question of What next?, for example:
future prospects, career aspirations
and further study opportunities.
