CAREER DEVELOPMENT TUTORIALS
|
Management Research Methods:
This module is designed to introduce
and provide students with a basic know-ledge
and understanding of the major
theoretical perspectives, strategies and
other issues associated with different
methods in business and management research.
The module also aims to provide students
with skills required to devise an appropriate
research proposal for their dissertation.
This development of basic knowledge and
skills of how to plan, organise, structure
and implement an MSc dissertation is
further developed under guided super-vision
of a tutor.
Individual Dissertation:
The dissertation project is a major piece of
work which demonstrates the students’
ability to qualify for the award of MSc.
It provides the practical and theoretical
focus for the MSc and makes significant
contribution to the professional and
intellectual development of the student.
It enables course members to demonstrate
their capacity for sustained independent
thought and innovative and creative
learning in a major piece of work.
The
project must be related to the students’
pathway. However, the topics that are
interdisciplinary in nature and are cross
pathway in orientation will be allowed
to proceed.
Career Development Tutorials:
These tutorials will help participants
to assess their qualification, their career
goals and how an MSc degree can help
to achieve these goals. They provide
a mechanism for students to participate
in the development of clear goals for their
future careers in business and manage-ment
in private as well as public sectors.
The service is available in the final two terms
(April-September) and aims to increase support and add value to the student.
