Certificate Stage - MBA Programme

This will consist of an intensive induction programme and five
core modules.

An intensive support programme
to help overseas students maximise
their learning from the course.
Core modules
This first term has a functional
perspective
and focuses largely on the
internal working of organisations.
Marketing Management:
The aim of this module is to introduce
you to the concepts and models utilised
by marketing managers. The module
explores the question What is marketing?
from the functional and philosophical
perspective.
Human Resource Management:
This module provides the opportunity
to develop the knowledge and skills
involved in the effective management of
people within organisations and to under-stand
the specialist contribution HR can
make to organisational effectiveness.
Finance for Managers:
The module is designed to show the
value, usefulness and applications of
financial accounting as well as providing
a reasonable exposition of its limitations.
Operations Management:
The module provides a clear, well-structured
and interesting treatment of
Operations Management as it applies to
a variety of businesses and organisations.
The module includes both a logical path
through the activities of operations management
and an understanding of its
strategic context.
Contextual Environment:
The Contextual Environment unit is
designed to provide a framework within
which students can understand and
assess how the external environment
including cultural and ethical issues
impact on organisations.
