Postgraduate
Diploma Stage - MBA Programme
(Term 2: January - April)
The core curriculum in Term 2 has a
more strategic perspective and begins
the process of helping students to gain
an integrative and analytical approach
to the individual disciplines which
support management in a business.
Modules at this stage include:
Strategic Management:
This module provides students with
an understanding of the overall
strategic management process from
analysis through to implementation.
Students will gain an understanding
of the underlying principles, concepts,
models and techniques used to analyse,
evaluate and implement strategy.
Management Research Methods:
This module will acquaint the student
with the range of methods and techniques
appropriate for applied business/
management research and encourage
students to develop a reflective approach
to the research process.
Organisation Dynamics & Change:
This module will provide a critique of
models of change by investigating the
dynamics that underpin organisational
existence. An appreciation of the complexity
of organisational life will facilitate
a view of organisational change that
challenges universal and one-best way
approaches.
International Management:
This module enables the student to
develop an appreciation of the diversity
of social, cultural, political and belief
systems which influence the management
of people and processes in an
international context.
The student will also identify and explore
the range of theoretical perspectives
which specifically address the diversity
of management issues in an international
context.
Business Innovation & Planning:
This module provides insights into the
creation of innovative business models
and to building competencies in innovation
management.
It allows managers to understand
the new technological challenges
and strategic opportunities available
to them, the importance of incubation
to entrepreneurship and the process
of new venture creation.
