CALENDAR
This is a Sample
calendar which you can follow as a guide to schedule your own process. The calendar
is applicable for admission to US and Canadian universities.
The sample calendar
is based on a fall 2002 (August-September) start date.

Feb-Apr 2001 |
Decide on courses, search for colleges,
register for GMAT, GRE, SAT, TOEFL and any other tests. Register for TOEFL and other
admission tests. Check our section on Tests
to be taken for registration details. Tests should be taken by
October/November. |

May-Jun 2001 |
Narrow your list of schools to about 15 and request
application material. Check out our section on Application
issues. Visit university websites and download application forms or
request for brochures and application forms to be mailed to you. Check application
deadline of universities and plan your schedule accordingly. If applying for financial
aid, check the university financial aid deadline. |

Jul-Nov 2001 |
Prepare and take the tests.
Finalize universities to apply.
Collect documents like recommendation letters, official transcripts, bank statements,
which will accompany your application.
Request for additional score reports after taking the tests.
Fill out
university application forms.
Work on your Essays/Statement of Purpose. |

Oct-Jan 2001 |
Review your application package. Ensure the form is properly
filled, all attachments are ready, Review your essays and/or statement of purpose
thoroughly before mailing your application packet.
Mail application packets allowing for sufficient time to reach before the university
deadline. |

Dec2000-Mar2002 |
Respond quickly to any additional information requested by
the school/college/university, if any. |

Jan-May 2002 |
You will start hearing from colleges. Contact the
admissions office if you do not receive anything from them. Accept one school's offer, and
notify them and the others of your choice. Ask the school to send you the I-20 or IAP-64 form
or other forms and letters needed for Visa application. Check out the various country
sections for more details. Make accommodation arrangements. Indian students can contact
Indian students Body in the university.

Jun 2002 |
Apply for a visa. Attend pre-departure orientation programs
in your country. Make travel arrangements. Plan to arrive at least 15 days prior to
